Soil mechanics laboratory
| SOIL TESTING |
| Our group in Ostrava executes soil tests to evaluate soil’s physical and mechanical properties. We provide laboratory tests for assessing underlying soils for geotechnical investigations and road and railway constructions. We offer basic soil classification analyses such as moisture content, bulk density, apparent solids density, consistency limit or grain size determination. We perform compressibility testing in an oedometer by progressive loading, as well as, for example, simple compressive strength testing. We perform unconsolidated undrained triaxial testing or box shear testing. |
| We determine permeability, flow limits and plasticity limits. We do the Proctor compaction test, laboratory comparative bulk density and moisture content determination and, last but not least, we can also determine the California bearing ratio, instantaneous bearing capacity index and linear swelling. |
